Michigan State’s Joshua Langford said basketball made him better, but he’s ready for a new path in life.Langford will not return to the Spartans next season as permitted by the NCAA’s COVID-19 policy, but instead step away from basketball entirely.”My college experience wasn’t what I imagined it to be, but it exceeded all of my expectations and I wouldn’t change it for anything,” Langford said in an Instagram post on Monday. “…This journey with the game of basketball has been amazing and despite the hardships I have faced, they have made me better.”With that being said, I will not pursue a professional career. Although it will be new to me, I am excited for the next part of my race. I would also like to encourage others to see that you have much more in you than what you are doing right now. Do not allow what you do to define who you are because it doesn’t.”Langford, 24, said in March that he would not return to the Michigan State basketball team.
